👻Aave: Donation to support people in Ukraine

Summary:

This proposal, if passed, would trigger an additional vote to decide whether or not Aave should donate from their treasury in an effort to support individuals effected by Russias invasion in Ukraine. If both votes pass, Aave would stand to donate $2,000,000 ($1,000,000 in USDC, and $1,000,000 in Aave) to either the Ukrainian Government’s Eth wallet address (Posted to Ukraine governments Twitter) or an NGO (Non-government org.?).

Recommendation:

I recommend that the Rabbithole metagovernance ‘Abstain’ from this vote. The reason for my decision has to do with the fact that there is not adequate time allowed in order for the metagovernance pod to arrive at a decision and then organize the vote. Additionally, I personally disagree with decentralized finance protocols intervening with geopolitical issues (to be completely clear: I am not in any way endorsing what Russia is doing, I personally feel terrible for all of the innocent people effected by this terrible event.). Also, this vote breaks Aave’s governance process by not remaining in the forum for the required period of time (5 days) prior to a vote being posted.
